HOMETOWN FLORIST ASSOCIATION MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Hometown Florist Association (HFA) is to assist all
members in the growth and betterment of their floral businesses and the
associates that work within them. The association will do this by providing
affordable ways and means to promote, market, educate, network, and better
manage their businesses.
HOMETOWN FLORIST ASSOCIATION OBJECTIVES
- To Provide Affordable Marketing/Promotional Opportunities for retail
florists. The material would be provided for use by MEMBERS ONLY:
- TV commercials that could be tagged by individual member florists.
- Newspaper print ads that could be tagged and used by member florists.
- Fliers that could be produced and tagged for member florists.
- Direct mail pieces could be produced for member florists.
- To provide an Affordable means to capture orders through the internet for MEMBERS ONLY:
- Bidding for a top position on the internet for "yourhometownflorists.com" for members' delivery locations.
- To Provide Affordable Marketing/Promotional Opportunities for Wholesale
Florists, Growers, Manufacturers and Associate Members:
- Wholesale members would be provided venues to display, discuss, and educate retail members with their products.
- Retail members would be encouraged to use the products and services of the wholesale/vendor/associate members.
- Trade show opportunities to display and sell their products.
- Use of the wholesale member facilities for programs to bring in retail customers.
- Associate Members would be provided opportunities to promote their services and products.
- To Provide Affordable Educational Programs for Retail and Wholesale Florists:
- Accounting/Financial programs to help members better run their businesses.
- Management programs to help member florists improve employee relations, productivity, hiring, training, and other issues.
- Design programs to help employees keep up with trends and products.
- Hands-on programs to improve employee skills.
- Advertising/Marketing how-to programs, including:
- Educating the public to go to their local "Home Town Florist" to help regain their market share
- Business partnering
- Using low/no cost promotional techniques
- Producing mail-merge advertising pieces
- Using web site marketing techniques
- Using technology programs to help produce direct mail pieces
- To Provide Networking Opportunities:
- Exchanging ideas with fellow retail and wholesale members
- Exchanging floral orders with fellow members
- Participate in government affairs that affect floral businesses
- Provide an ongoing communication between all members
